Lady GaGa – Celebrity Icon of 2009

Lady GaGa has been the undisputed celebrity icon this year. In terms of music, persona, outrageous outfits and  star quality, nobody even comes close. While she has her detractors (even here at Celebrity Star Journal), there  is no denying that Lady GaGa has been the dominating force in the world of celebrity in 2009.

While there was the notorious scandal concerning her gender, there has been no stopping her. Her album ‘The  Fame’ continued to sell in massive amounts throughout the year, and then came the latest release, ‘The Fame  Monster‘. This new 8 track CD was backed up by an additional CD- The Fame itself – and was another huge hit in  all its formats.

Her videos have defined the year, her music has been pumped out in clubs all over the world and there are a  string of arena dates to come. Is there any stopping Lady GaGa? Not right now there isn’t.

Many people liken her to this generation’s Madonna, and that’s about as close as it gets in terms of cross-media  appeal and her unique sense of style. In every way, Lady GaGa is this year’s greatest celebrity icon. What will  she do next?
