Melody Thornton: More Pussycat Dolls controversy

April 27, 2009 by Clark

Following the reports that Nicole Scherzinger is apparently to leave the Pussycats Dolls at the end of their current tour, bandmate Melody Thornton has caused something of a stir with an outburst at a show in Detroit.

Visibly and audibly hurt by what is going on, Melody referred to Nicole’s ‘Featured’ status on recent covers. She said in front of a packed crowd:  “Thank you so much for supporting me – even if I’m not featured, you know what I’m saying? You can do anything you want to do. Don’t give up on your dreams and don’t let anyone stop you – ever!” This was followed by a bitter stare at the departing Nicole.

The Pussycat Dolls have suddenly gone from being a mediocre pop act with sexy dance routines to being the most interesting showbiz soap opera around. If that doesn’t help their careers, then nothing will.

It does sound like there is a great deal of animosity building in the PCD camp, and we all hope that if they are to part, that they can do so on amicable terms. Sadly, with Nicole getting all of the attention, it seems that a friendly split might not be possible.

Well who would blame melody. She is a very talented singer and dancer as are the rest of the girls but NICOLE gets all the credit. Don’t get me wrong nicole is really good too, but i believe it would be better if ALL the pussycat dolls sang not just one getting all the limelight. Anyone would burst if they would not get credit for the hardwork they put in.

Very, very true! Thanks for your comment. They all deserve equal billing- it isn’t at all fair that Nicole is getting singled out.
