Tupac Shakur: Rediscovered film script to go into production

March 10, 2009 by Clark

A movie screenplay written by the late (or living, depending on who you believe) rapper Tupac Shakur is to go into production.

The script, entitled Live 2 Tell, was to be a starring vehicle for the hip hop star. The grammatically challenged film tells the story of an ex drug-dealer who tries to find a way out of his terrible lifestyle, and has been sold to Insomnia Productions, who are to start casting the project next month.

It does raise the question as to how many other ‘lost’ projects will continue to surface from the estate of the fallen rapper. With album after album of unreleased material now on the shelves, this film and more material yet to see the light of day, he was either the most prolific artist of the 90s or there is a team of ghost writers and impersonators hard at work.

We are veering on the former rather than the latter, as it was always widely known that Shakur had stockpiled countless recordings before his untimely death. It will be most interesting to follow the production of the film, and indeed we are eager to hear more on the rumoured biopic of Shakur’s life.
