Knowing When Your Relationship is Over

February 25, 2009 by Clark

So, movie star Megan Fox is single again after breaking off her engagement to Brian Austin Green, after a period of just under five years.

Their split is amicable and they are remaining friends. According to the 22 year old actress, the relationship has simply run its course. This is a very sensible and grounded way of looking at the end of a relationship.

If the fires between you and your significant other have gone out, is it time to move on? Think long and hard about it. Don’t jump to any rash decisions regarding your future together. Talk things over, and take in your partner’s point of view.

Most times you can work through any issues you have, and perhaps even the act of acknowledging that the relationship is in trouble will help to keep it alive/.

Try and work through those issues together, and if the outcome is that you are indeed at the end of the road with your relationship, then let it end gracefully. You don’t want the good times together to be sullied further by a bad breakup, so end your time a s a couple on friendly terms. That way you will stay in each other’s lives as a friend instead of a bad memory.

Granted, you may wish to part completely upon the end of your relationship, but at least try to end it in a friendly, honest and open manner to ensure that it comes to a close with grace and dignity. Take a leaf from Megan Fox’s book and acknowledge when things have run their course to a natural conclusion. It doesn’t mean you can’t be friends afterwards.

After all, your time together was special once upon a time, and you both deserve to remember it fondly.
